The term 'lookout' is not used lightly to describe the Cherry Hill development, one of the great historic locations and viewpoints along Flathead Lake. Tucked in the northwest corner of this majestic lake is the little town of Lakeside, Montana, the home of this memorable location, Caroline Point.
In 1915, W.G. Whipps, four-term mayor of Kalispell, named this port after his daughter, Caroline. In the early part of the new century, there were more than 20 large boats traveling Flathead Lake. These vessels transported thousands of passengers and tons of freight along ports on the western shore like Lakeside, Somers, Rollins, Dayton, Big Arm, and Polson. The return voyage meandered up the eastern shore to Bigfork and on around to Somers to complete the nearly 100 mile excursion.
On balmy summer evenings, the vessels would tow dance barges in Somers Bay, the delight of the local loggers and merchants. By 1917, the Northern Pacific Railroad made its appearance, and the ship numbers began to decline. The past faded into a distant memory. Until now.
In its personal history, Cherry Hill Lookout was once the home of the valley's Elk Club Lodge, attracting families for fun and cabin camping. With its main lodge, boat docks, 30 foot water slide and platform for diving, picnics and dances were regular events held during the summer.
Cherry Hill Lookout has captured the memories by naming many of the new units floor plans after the great boats of this era. The A.B. Guthrie was a tug boat at Somers and worked at the Somers Lumber Company. Another, the Coulter, was a tug steamer named after John Coulter, a private in the Army who was with the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The Rhetta Mary was a passenger ship.
Now, once again, Cherry Hill Lookout comes alive to offer outstanding accommodations, recreations, lakeshore living and more. This multi-tenant complex offers state of the art amenities. As you enter the spacious living room area, you notice the Montana style stone gas fireplace. The comfort of central gas (propane) heating and air conditioning are immediately noticed. The fresh air purification systems guarantee quality along with comfort. Temperature is easily maintained with the R23 combinations of foam and fiberglass in the walls and R49 urethane in the ceiling attics. This super insulation system assures low heat loss and cost effective climate control. The durable outside finish also works to protect the occupants for whatever the elements may deliver. Architectural grade, 30 year shingle roofing and low-maintenance hard plank siding and trim will wrap you with beauty and protection for years.
Today's modern home wouldn't be complete without the latest technologies to connect you to the world. High speed Internet access wiring and the latest in creature comforts are a must. Dimmers, central vacuum systems, radiant floor heat in the master bathroom, and thermal loop, instant hot water at every faucet in your home are just a few of the high-tech standards.
With multiple design packages to choose from, Cherry Hill Lookout strives to deliver more than you expect and all that you want. Hardwood flooring in the kitchen, dining area and living room, premium grade carpet in the master bedroom and ceramic floors in the bathroom put the designer touch on your new home. The beauty of hardwood continues with trim and custom cabinetry complementing the designer rounded drywall corners.
We could go on and on and still not cover every standard feature of this exciting new property. To complete your home, all major appliances plus gas ports on upper and lower decks for barbecues, ceiling fans, garbage disposal, solid-surface counter tops in bathrooms and granite counter tops in the kitchen put the final signature on each masterpiece.
Now, step outside and enjoy the incredible surroundings and views Northwest Montana and the Flathead Valley are famous for. The "Big Sky" and the Mission Mountains seem to frame an ever changing landscape just outside your door. You will enjoy a private marina, boat slips, two private homeowners' beach areas and a picnic area for group barbecues and parties complete with pits and tables (included in your annual homeowners fees). The beach areas are designed around a central clubhouse, tennis courts and walking paths. This private shoreline consists of over 570 feet of shared lake frontage for the Cherry Hill Lookout homeowner.
When you add it all up, the best of all worlds come together along the north shores of Flathead Lake and Cherry Hill Lookout. In winter, spring, summer and fall this majestic property will deliver the Montana lifestyle at a fraction of the cost you would have expected. Come see why Montana is truly "The Last Best Place". |
