Creston School contracted with Jackola to conduct a property condition assessment for the purpose of developing a document to serve as a guide for the prioritization of present and future maintenance and capital projects. A team consisting of an architect, structural, mechanical, electrical engineers, and surveyor visited the facility to evaluate the physical condition of the structure, roof systems, exterior and interior finishes and components, as well as the condition of the plumbing, heating, and electrical systems and components along with general site and infrastructure evaluation. Observed conditions that represented non-compliance with current codes or accessibility standards were also noted for inclusion in the final report. Following the on-site evaluation a report was generated highlighting the observations of the team which was subsequently reviewed with the school board. Preliminary planning for a new school on an adjacent site was also included. Following the assessment the school undertook a complete facade replacement with new siding and trim, fascia and window replacements. A new exit canopy and repair of damaged sill/wall sheathing was completed. Jackola provided assistance in developing a RFQ process for the selection of contractors. Once selected, Jackola provided recommendation oversight to the construction process.
