Jackola completed the design and project management for a privately owned 34?-4? bridge across Wolf Creek, located near Slethaug Lane east of Hwy 83 in Bigfork. The bridge was located in an undeveloped forest to provide access to a section of the owner?s property. The owner was planning to build on the property and wanted a bridge that would provide permanent access and support for construction truck traffic. A precast bridge was selected for durability and minimizing pollution possibilities and it was designed to meet the requirements of ASSHTO HS 20-44 loading. The owner also wanted an aesthetically pleasing structure to enhance the property. Arched side walls were designed to meet this requirement and these were cladded with masonry veneer. Location and topo surveys were competed to located the bridge on the river to minimize length and ensure that the water conservation district?s conditions were met. Stream work permitting was also completed with the water conservation district. The bid documents for the precast manufacturer and the erection contractor were completed and the site visits were completed to ensure that the plans and specification were met.
