This $6.5M U.S. Customs and Border Protection Land Port of Entry and housing facility is located north of Cut Bank, Montana. Jackola provided all architectural services, survey, civil engineering, interior design, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and structural engineering on the project. Working closely with the contractor on this design build project was a key to success.
The main border protection building on this site includes two holding rooms as well as various other spaces for government security. The project required extensive communication with government representatives in order to meet necessary design requirements for security.
The Del Bonita Land Port of Entry received LEED GOLD Certification through numerous sustainable strategies including a high performance envelope, a dual fuel heat pump system, a highly effective boiler system with low emissions, efficient ventilation and exhaust systems, a solar domestic hot water system, and building automation systems. Occupant comfort is achieved through individual workstation lighting, dimmers, occupancy sensors, air temperature control, and control over air flow.
