Jackola contracted with the State of Montana for this water and septic system replacement project. The DNRC Swan River State Forest facilities located approximately 12 miles south of Swan Lake had aging water and septic systems that were starting to show signs of failure. The systems were circa 1950?s with leaking water distribution and a septic system that was getting overloaded under higher seasonal use. After an on-site assessment and based upon system age, it was determined that replacement of certain collection, disposal, and water distribution areas were needed.
Jackola worked with the State A/E Office, various agencies having jurisdiction and the Swan Unit staff to identify a scope of work, permitting requirements, and preliminary construction estimates. Once a scope was agreed upon, Jackola performed site surveying services, assessed on-site soils and facilities, and developed design and construction documents addressing replacement of the water distribution, septic collection and on-site disposal while maintaining the existing operations of the facilities. Design and permitting of the septic system was undertaken with Lake County. MT DEQ approvals were not required as the facility population served did not trigger public water and wastewater systems.
